TIMESCALES FOR THE PROCESS
How long does it take to place a memorial and what are the steps?
We are currently working at approximately 16 - 22 weeks to manufacture & place a memorial.
This estimate begins from the date we receive the deposit or approved CAD drawing (if required). The process of obtaining a permit is carried out by us on your behalf. If you are having a more unusual style or size of memorial, we would suggest a CAD diagram for you. CAD diagrams can be produced on request at time of order placement. This diagram will show you all the dimensions and show a computer aided drawing, which we would ask you to sign off before we begin manufacturing.
We always try to complete your order as quickly as possible, but some factors are out of our control, such as shipping and the permit approval process. Therefore, some memorials may be placed after 22 weeks and some may be before 16 weeks.
An express delivery service is available on certain occasions at an extra cost.
How the process works for ordering a new memorial
Our experienced team is here to help assist you through every step of the process, from choosing a memorial, to gaining permission from the cemetery or churchyard and deciding on an inscription.
Step 1
Speak with one of our team about your memorial requirements. We specialise in combining varying ideas and materials to create something unique and beautiful. If you need advice then we can help you through the process in one of our branches, over the phone or by email. We will advise how to adapt the memorial to keep within the specific regulations of the cemetery/ churchyard. A quotation will be provided at this point.
Step 2
When you are happy to proceed with your quotation, a 50% deposit is required to place an order. This can be paid over the phone by credit or debit card, bank transfer or in person. Once we have received the deposit you will receive an order form to sign and a cemetery permit application form, which will need to be signed by the grave owner. We will then submit the permit to the relevant cemetery for approval. We will also start the manufacturing of your memorial.
Please Note: Obtaining a permit usually takes 2-4 weeks but may take longer depending on the cemetery. We have no control over this timescale unfortunately.
Step 3
We will provide you with a layout of your lettering. We will need you to check all dates and spellings, and once you are happy with it, we would ask you to sign a copy. If you have chosen to order a photo plaque, then we will ask you to give us a high quality photo to replicate.
Once all approved paperwork is received, the memorial can then be scheduled to be placed into the cemetery/churchyard as soon as possible. We will call you after the memorial has been placed.
The final invoice balance is due within 7 days of placement of the memorial.
